Bears expect WR Keenan Allen back from heel injury vs. Rams

The Bears plan on getting a boost to their offense with the return of six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, coach Matt Eberflus said. Allen missed the last two games with a heel injury, but practiced in full Friday.

While Eberflus said Allen is “in a good spot” and anticipates him playing Sunday against the Rams, Allen hedged by saying he’d see how it felt before the game. Nonetheless, he conveyed confidence and said he felt better than he did going into the opener, when he caught four passes for 29 yards and missed some snaps because of the injury.

Allen had a heel injury last season with the Chargers, and said it flared up again in mid-August. The Bears held him out the last week of training camp.

The team traded a fourth-round pick for Allen and picked up all of his $23.1 million salary for this season. He’ll be a free agent after the season.
