Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Marin Lnenicka, Granada flag football

Alameda flag football player Marin Lnenicka is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Oct. 7-12.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Lnenicka finished with 32.92% of the votes. Willow Glen flag football player Natalia Valerio placed second with 20.43%, and Carlmont golfer Tessa Lee was third.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Lnenicka, a junior, had eight receptions for 130 yards and three touchdowns in a 26-14 victory over Monte Vista. This win improved the Matadors to 9-3.
