A person was critically wounded in a fire early Wednesday in Belmont Cragin on the Northwest Side.
Around 12:25 a.m., officers and firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 2300 block of North Meade Avenue and a male was pulled from the flames, Chicago police said.
He suffered a laceration to his neck and burns throughout his body, police said. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was in critical condition, officials said.
Police and fire officials were investigating.
