Avelo Airlines now flying from Sonoma County airport to Ontario

Avelo Airlines has landed at Ontario International Airport and begun offering nonstop flights to Sonoma County.

Passengers can now travel from Ontario airport to the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa in about 1 1/2 hours, a news release states.

The airport is “the Bay Area’s most convenient,” the release states. Flyers taking the trips will be close to Northern California wineries, redwoods, the Pacific coastline and nearby small towns.

The new flights are available twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

The Houston-based airline also offers nonstop flights in Southern California to nine West Coast destinations from its Los Angeles-area base at Hollywood Burbank Airport. This is the airline’s first time flying out of Ontario.
