An Aurora man was charged with several felony counts, including first-degree murder, in the death of his ex-wife in Oswego last month.
Ryan Dodd, 44, was charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, armed violence, residential burglary and aggravated stalking, all felonies, according to the Oswego Police Department.
Oswego police were called to a home in the 400 block of Valentine Way on Jan. 27 after a man saw video surveillance of another man entering his home and said he thought his wife was in danger. The man on the video was Dodd and the woman was his ex-wife, Ashley Stewart, 41.
Dodd allegedly followed Stewart into the home and attacked her with a knife. Stewart was pronounced dead from multiple sharp force injuries.
A GoFundMe for Ashley Stewart’s family has raised $55,000 toward its $60,000 goal.
