One person is dead after a Metra train collided with a car in Norwood Park Saturday afternoon, a Metra spokesperson said.
The crash happened around 3:50 p.m. near Nagle and Avondale Avenues when Union Pacific Northwest outbound train 717 struck a car, the spokesperson said. At least one person in the car that was struck has died, she said.
It’s unclear if other injuries or fatalities occurred.
The dead person hasn’t been identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as of Saturday around 7:20 p.m.
