Anthony Edwards has been ruled out for the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ upcoming game against the Orlando Magic, just one of many players now listed on the team’s injury report for Wednesday.
Edwards, a former All-NBA candidate before going down with a knee injury, has played in just two games since mid-March, and will now miss his third game in a row and his tenth in the Timberwolves’ last 12 games.
Along with him, Minnesota announced an updated injury report that features several top contributors for Wednesday night’s game against the Magic.

Edwards is now set to miss another game for the Timberwolves with just three more dates remaining on the team’s regular-season schedule.
Along with him, Minnesota also ruled out Ayo Dosunmu, Julius Randle, and Mike Conley for the game against Orlando.
Dosunmu is dealing with right calf injury management, as he missed a few games in March with a calf strain. Randle is ruled out with right-hand soreness, but likely just resting for the first time this season.
Conley and Rudy Gobert are both listed on the injury report due to ‘rest.’ While the veteran point guard has already been ruled out, the French center is currently questionable, but is expected to sit on Monday.
Interestingly enough, the Timberwolves have upgraded wing Jaden McDaniels for the game, despite so many other key contributors being ruled out. McDaniels hasn’t played since late March, and while the previous injury update listed him as ‘week-to-week,’ he could get back on the court for Minnesota on Wednesday.
“McDaniels, who has missed the last six games with left knee patella tendinopathy, has been cleared for full-contact, 5-on-5 basketball activities and will be listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic,” the team wrote in a new statement.
The Timberwolves have already clinched a playoff spot, set to be the sixth seed in the West after their win over the Indiana Pacers, so it makes sense that the team is resting players in a game that might not have any impact on their playoff scenarios.
Still, dealing with the several health concerns is not a good sign for Minnesota as they hope to make waves in the postseason in 2026, especially as it relates to Edwards’ unchanging injury status.

Without Edwards, it’s been tough sledding for the Timberwolves. But, after the win over the Pacers, they have clinched a postseason appearance for the fifth year in a row.
While there was hope Minnesota would be matched up with the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, that is extremely unlikely at the moment, especially with all the injuries that team is facing right now.
As the Lakers expect to play the Houston Rockets, the Timberwolves are likely to play the Denver Nuggets in the first round. The two squads have split their last two playoff matchups, but this season, getting a series victory might be a tougher task for Minnesota.
The recent injuries don’t help, and with how hot the Nuggets and Nikola Jokic have been recently, they’ll need some key players to set up.
But still, any chance of the Timberwolves winning at least one series requires Edwards to be healthy. Right now, especially based on recent injury updates, the star has no timeline for a return, and could miss more games as the team works through his knee injury.
