Soon, the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves will tip off their first-round series in the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
As NBA fans gear up for the action, an older video of Minnesota star Anthony Edwards praising Nikola Jokic recently resurfaced and went viral.
Based on Edwards’ reaction to facing Jokic at the time, it’s safe to say the young superstar is likely looking forward to battling against a player he once dubbed as the best he’s seen.

The Western Conference foes have faced each other 21 times.
While facing the Timberwolves, Jokic tends to have some of his most impressive scoring games, especially lately.
In their last meeting, which took place on March 1, Jokic produced 35 points. He was one assist shy of a triple-double, as he collected 13 rebounds and nine assists.

In three games this season, Jokic nearly averaged 40 points in games that Edwards was also involved in. During the Christmas Day meeting between the Timberwolves and the Nuggets, Jokic accounted for 56 points, 16 rebounds, and 15 assists in 43 minutes of action.
During their first battle of the year, Jokic dropped another triple-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.

On Tuesday night, the NBA announced the full round one schedule. The first game is set to take place on Saturday, April 18. They will tip off at 3:30 PM ET.
The matchup between the Timberwolves and the Nuggets will be their first meeting in the playoffs since the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
