Alabama’s Aden Holloway ‘Removed From Campus’ Following Arrest

Alabama starting guard Aden Holloway is no longer with the team and has been “removed from campus,” the University announced.

“The University is aware of the allegations and is working to gather more information,” the school said in a statement. “The student has been removed from campus pending further investigation by the UA Office of Student Conduct.”

According to ESPN, Holloway was arrested on the morning of Monday, March 16, with a Tuscaloosa County police spokesperson telling the outlet that it came after “agents with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force searched a residence near Alabama’s campus and ‘recovered more than a pound of marijuana, paraphernalia, and cash.’”

Holloway is set to be charged with first-degree possession of marijuana as well as failure to affix a tax stamp, both of which are felonies. ESPN adds that his bond was set at $5,000 and he was released from custody at 10:45 a.m. local time.

With these charges, Holloway is facing up to 10 years in jail and a fine of $15,000.

Alabama is entering the 2026 NCAA March Madness Tournament as the No. 4 seed, set to play against No. 13 seed Hofstra in the first round. But they will be competing without their starting guard, who earned All-SEC Third Team honors this season.

During the regular season, he averaged 16.8 points per game while shooting 48.0 percent from the field, as well as averaging 3.9 assists per game. This made him the team’s second-leading scorer.

This is Holloway’s second season with the Crimson Tide, having transferred after his freshman season at Auburn.
