A man was hospitalized Saturday evening after he was shot by deputies in Adams County east of Westminster, according to the sheriff’s office.
The agency wrote in a social media post that deputies were conducting a welfare check in the 7600 block of Heather Place and were in contact with a man “for several minutes” prior to the shooting, which was reported to dispatchers at 5:20 p.m.
As of 5:50 p.m. Saturday, the condition of the man shot was unknown, and deputies did not say what prompted the shooting.
The sheriff’s office said the incident is being investigated by the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
