A guide to holiday pop-up bars in Denver, from outdoor igloos to “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”

Want to shake off your Thanksgiving food coma? Enjoy a festive cocktail at one of these holiday pop-up bars and get a jumpstart into the season’s spirits.

Whether catching up with friends or simply getting in a merry mood, these seasonal bars across the Denver metro area promise a memorable holiday experience.

Avantiki at Avanti Food & Beverage

You’ll find tiki-inspired cocktails such as spiked egg nogs and boozy punch bowls at Avanti Food & Beverage’s Avantiki popup. Located on the second-floor rooftop Wolf Bar, it will be decorated with bamboo and island accents; there will also be hula dancers, Santa in a Hawaiian shirt and holiday lights. Entry is $5. Big Holiday Energy at Call to Arms Brewing

Call to Arms Brewing, 4526 Tennyson St., Denver, transforms its entire taproom into a winter wonderland takeover for its annual Big Holiday Energy popup. It features over-the-top decorations, holiday beers, a “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” theme (yes, there will be moose mugs), and a large party tent out front.

Elfie’s Enchanted Lounge at Lila B.

This holiday pop-up bar at Lila B at Comedy Works South, 5345 Landmark Place in Greenwood Village, serves festive drinks in a cozy atmosphere.

Home for the Holidays at Steuben’s

Steuben’s Uptown, 523 E. 17th Ave., has created a holiday pop-up bar that evokes childhood Christmas mornings.

The restaurant’s Home for the Holidays event includes twinkling holiday lights and an enclosed, heated patio where guests can enjoy a cocktail while waiting for Santa.

Open through Jan. 5.

Litmas at Linger

This popular holiday pop-up returns to the rooftop deck at Linger, 2030 W. 30th Ave.

It offers cozy outdoor igloos, a Christmas light display, a photo booth, and Linger’s extensive cocktail menu with non-alcoholic options.

Miracle at the Eddy Taproom & Hotel

Inspired by our furry friends Down Under, the Koala La La La at the Miracle bar at the Eddy blends tequila, vermouth, apple liqueur, tamarind, lemon, eucalyptus bitters, mint, and soda. (Eddy Taproom & Hotel)

This kitschy holiday decor pop-up bar featuring holiday-themed cocktails like the Koala La La La took over the taproom at the Eddy Hotel, 1640 Eighth St. in Golden.

Santa will visit at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 14. Open through Dec. 29. Make reservations online at theeddygolden.com.

Miracle at Union Station

This pop-up cocktail lounge returns to the Gallery Bar on Denver Union Station’s lower level at 1701 Wynkoop St. It features holiday décor, cocktails, and the nostalgia of childhood’s dancing sugar-plum visions.

Specialty cocktails include the Christmapolitan, brandy-spiked Crooked Antler and Naughty or Nice shots. The bar also includes a designated Hanukkah table.

Reservations are recommended for all groups but required for groups of eight or more. Make reservations online or email miracle@unionstationindenver.com.

The pop-up is open through Dec. 24. A special Midnight at Miracle on New Year’s Eve will usher in 2025.

Santa’s Secret Speakeasy at Blind Tiger Lounge

The Blind Tiger Lounge at 3040 Blake Street #131 converted its cocktail lounge space into Santa’s Secret Speakeasy holiday pop-up bar.

A daily coin flip determines whether the drinks on the secret menu are naughty or nice.

Sippin’ Santa at Bernard’s Tiki Room at the Arvada Tavern

Envision Santa on a surfboard at this playful, retro-kitsch Christmas pop-up at the Arvada Tavern, 5707 Olde Wadsworth Blvd.

Sleigh Bar at McGregor Square

Milepost Zero, the McGregor food hall at 1601 19th St., Suite 150, transformed into Sleigh Bar.

Special events include Christmas karaoke, $5 shots for people wearing ugly sweaters, pop culture holiday trivia, and visits with Santa.

Specialty cocktails include the Merry Elitch, Figgy Pudding Punch, Santa Sangria and North Pole Cocoa.

Snowdrift at Adrift

Adrift Tiki Bar will convert into Snowdrift, a “tiki-meets-tinsel” holiday pop-up bar starting Nov. 29 at 218 S. Broadway St.

The winter wonderland includes snowcapped palms, Yuletide cheer, and an igloo beach bar. Specialty food items include crispy Christmas crab cakes, Yuletide Loco Moco meatloaf, and Santa’s steak dinner.

Seasonal cocktails include the Snowdrift Coquito, the Partridge in a Pear Tree, and the Cabo Claus. Non-alcohol options include the Krampus Cooler and the Strongwater Spritz.

The Krampus Room at The Electric Cure

The fourth annual The Krampus Room Holiday Tiki Bar, 5350 W. 25th Ave. in Edgewater, promises cocktails crafted by The Electric Cure‘s in-house heathens who “pour their cold, twisted little hearts into every scandalous sip.”

XXX-mas Bar at Los Chingones RiNo

Los Chingones, 2463 Larimer St., offers a sexy spin on holiday fun. The bar proudly proclaims it is on the naughty list and invites you to join it there.
