90-year-old pedestrian critically hurt in Edgewater hit-and-run

Chicago police are searching for a driver who hit a 90-year-old man as he crossed the street Saturday in Edgewater.

Chicago police say the driver of a gray or silver 2005 Chevrolet Equinox struck a 90-year-old man who was crossing the street in the 6000 block of North Broadway around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024.

The man was crossing the street about 5:45 p.m. in the 6000 block of North Broadway when the driver of a gray or silver 2005 Chevrolet Equinox struck him and continued driving, police said.

The man suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

The car had a yellow temporary license plate and a pink ribbon sticker on its rear, police said.
