82-year-old woman sexually assaulted during Auburn Gresham home invasion

An 82-year-old woman was sexually assaulted during a home invasion Wednesday evening in Auburn Gresham on the South Side.

A male attacker entered through the window of a home in the 1600 block of West 82nd Street around 6:55 p.m. and struck the woman in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, Chicago police said.

While the woman was on the ground, he then sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene, police said.

The woman was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital for observation where she was in good condition, officials said.

The attacker was not arrested and Area 2 detectives are investigating.
