8-year-old boy found safe after Grand Crossing abduction

An Amber Alert for an 8-year-old boy was canceled early Friday after he was abducted in Grand Crossing after the fatal stabbing of a woman.

The boy was abducted in the 7100 block of South Eberhart Avenue about 7:40 p.m. Thursday, according to Illinois State Police.

He was found unharmed, state police said early Friday.

The alert was issued after a 33-year-old woman was fatally stabbed on the same block about 40 minutes earlier.
