76ers Catch Major Break With Giannis Antetokounmpo News

Many in Philadelphia wondered if the Philadelphia 76ers would face Giannis Antetokounmpo for the 2025-2026 NBA regular season finale.

Lately, there’s been a lot of drama surrounding Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, with the veteran superstar claiming he wants to play.

Throughout the year, Antetokounmo has dealt with multiple setbacks. Currently, he’s recovering from a knee hyperextension and bone bruise, according to the Bucks’ injury report.

Giannis has been fighting to get back out on the court before the regular season concludes, since Milwaukee’s run ends there. However, the Sixers will catch a break. The Bucks have ruled out Giannis for the final game of the season in Philadelphia.

Over the past three seasons, the Sixers have faced Antetokounmpo six times. The Greek Freak has logged a double-double each time, only failing to score ore than 30 points on two occasions.

When the Sixers last hosted Antetokounmpo, the veteran forward checked in for 39 minutes. He scored a triple-double with 35 points, 20 assists, and 17 rebounds.

All-time, Giannis holds a dominant 30-8 record over the Sixers.

However, the Sixers snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Bucks during their first meeting back in November. Since then, the Sixers won every game, nearing a sweep against Milwaukee for the first time since the 2008-2009 NBA season.

Philly has guaranteed postseason action coming its way, but it’s unclear if the Sixers will need to go through the NBA Play-In Tournament or not.

A loss against the Bucks guarantees the Sixers a ticket to the tournament. A win, along with Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic losses, would allow the Sixers to pick up the sixth seed, locking in a series against the New York Knicks in round one.

Nothing is guaranteed on Sunday, but the Sixers certainly have higher odds of winning with Antetokounmpo out of the mix.
