6 injured in Humboldt Park apartment fire

Six people in their 70s were hospitalized in an apartment fire early Friday in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

Around 2 a.m., officers and firefighters responded to the 4300 block of West Thomas Street for the fire, Chicago police said.

Four men, 71, 72, 74 and 75 were hospitalized with smoke inhalation, police said. They were all listed in good condition.

Two women, both 74, were also taken to area hospitals with smoke inhalation, authorities said. One woman was in serious condition while the other was in good condition, officials said.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
