Three adults and 2 minors were under arrest after a man was shot and killed early Friday in west suburban Oak Park.
No charges have been announced.
Around 1:20 a.m., officers responded to shots fired at 651 South Blvd. and found a man laying in the street with an apparent gunshot wound just west of Wesley Avenue, Oak Park police said.
The unidentified man was taken to the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 2 a.m., police said.
A witness told officers that about five males wearing black clothing fled the scene on foot, according to officials.
Five individuals — three adults and two minors — matching those descriptions were observed running east on Pleasant Street from Cuyler Avenue and were taken into custody, authorities said.
No weapons were recovered.
The Oak Park Police Department is investigating with the assistance of the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
