4-year-old girl, 2 adults shot, wounded in Hegewisch

Three people, including a 4-year-old girl, were shot and wounded in Hegewisch on the southeast side on Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.

A 23-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were in a residence in the 14400 block of South Carondolet Avenue at 5:25 p.m. when someone fired shots outside and they were hit, police said. The man was shot in the right side and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

The woman was shot in the right shoulder and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said. The 4-year-old was shot in her right leg and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.

No one is in custody.
