Four teenage girls ordered an Uber ride to make their getaway after allegedly stealing $7,500 in fragrances and cosmetics from a Corte Madera store last week, police said.
The Oakland teens were seen by a store employee in a shop at Corte Madera Town Center about 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, as they allegedly filled large bags with fragrances and cosmetics, according to the Central Marin Police Authority.

Officers who were in the area when the theft was reported spotted the suspects’ ride headed out of the shopping center.
“The thieves had ordered an Uber as their getaway car and were driving north on to Highway 101 when they were stopped by police,” according to police.
Officers found the suspects and recovered the allegedly stolen merchandise.
Three of the suspects are 15 years old and the fourth is 13 years old, police said.
The teens were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of organized retail theft and their parents and guardians were contacted.
