3 kids among 6 critically hurt in suspicious 2 alarm fire at West Englewood home: sources

Three kids were among six people critically injured in a suspicious extra-alarm house fire early Wednesday in West Englewood on the South Side, police and sources say.

The fire broke out around 1:50 a.m. in the 6200 block of South Paulina Street where nearly 200 Chicago Fire Department personnel responded, fire officials said.

Six people were rescued from the home and were taken to area hospitals all in critical condition, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire was under investigation after an incendiary device was found, according to sources.


Chicago police responded to the fire but haven’t yet released any details.
