Scottie Scheffler is the current world No. 1 and as such he is stepping foot onto the course at the Augusta National Golf Club as the agreed upon favorite by most analysts and fans. However, he has seen his odds dip considerably in recent weeks – with a more extreme dip this week in particular.
Despite the dip in confidence from oddsmakers, Scheffler is entering the 2026 Masters with odds of +450 to +600. Recent lines place him around +480 in a reflection of both his elite track record at Augusta National and some inconsistency in recent tournaments, plus his hiatus from the sport following the birth of his second son, Remy Scheffler, in March 2026. So even though the world No. 1 golfer already has multiple green Jackets and consistent top 110 finishes at the Masters, he may be the safest pick for the top of the leaderboard of bets – but he isn’t necessarily considered to be starting the tournament with the best value.

With a very small marginal difference in odds, defending Masters champion Rory McIlroy is returning for the 2026 Tournament at Augusta National with a top seat on oddsmakers’ predictions for this year’s victor. The Northern Irish golfer finally captured his elusive Masters title at last year’s competition after proving that he consistently thrives on the course at the Augusta National Golf Club with numerous top 10 finishes during his time there.
However, there are lingering concerns about recent injuries McIlroy has experienced, particularly the back spasms he has opened up about this week, and his odds have slightly lengthened behind Scottie Scheffler’s as a result.

Another major contender at the 2026 Masters and a popular pick among analysts and oddsmakers is Jon Rahm, whose odds are within a near tie with Rory McIlroy at +900 to +1200. The 2023 Masters champion has been in strong form leading up to this year’s tournament, particularly on the LIV circuit, and he boasts remarkable consistency on the course at the Augusta National Golf Club. Rahm’s combination of power and precision make him a strong candidate to contend deep into Sunday’s competition.
