2 teens arrested after shots fired at police in South Chicago

Two teens were in custody after shots were fired at Chicago police officers Sunday night in South Chicago on the South Side.

Around 7:35 p.m., officers were responding to a disturbance in the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue and noticed multiple males in the area when one of them fired a shot in their direction, police said.

They tried fleeing the scene on foot but two 17-year-olds were placed into custody, officials said. Two firearms were recovered.

No officers fired their weapons.
