2 suspects sought in attempted robbery, fight on Red Line train in Edgewater

Chicago police are searching for two people who punched and tried to rob a Red Line passenger in Edgewater this month.

The attackers, described by police as two 18- or 19-year-old men, approached a passenger on a train near the Granville station about 10:40 p.m. Nov. 13 and attempted to take their wallet and backpack, police said.

The victim resisted, leading to a fight in which the men punched the passenger several times, police said.

Both men were described by police as between 5 foot 7 and 5 foot 9. One of them wore a dark hooded sweatshirt with “Chicago-The Windy City” emblem on the chest and gray pants. The other man wore a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask, gray-colored sweatpants and white shoes.
