Two people were shot, one fatally, in Woodlawn early Saturday, police said.
Officers responded to the 6600 block of South Champlain Avenue just before 3 a.m. and found a 42-year-old woman who had been shot in the arm, according to Chicago police. The woman told officers a 38-year-old man was in an apartment and had also been shot.
The man was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center. The woman suffered two gunshot wounds to the left arm and was listed in good condition at the same hospital.
A gun was recovered on the scene and detectives are investigating.
