17-year-old boy wounded in Belmont Cragin shooting

A 17-year-old boy was wounded in a Belmont Cragin shooting Monday night on the Northwest Side.

The boy was walking outside in the 2600 block of North Melvina Avenue when he was shot in the torso about 10:45 p.m., Chicago police said.

He took himself to West Suburban Hospital where he was in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
