10th suspect in violent Aurora apartment kidnapping arrested in Denver

Another suspect wanted in connection with the alleged kidnapping and torture of two people at Aurora’s Edge of Lowry apartment complex was arrested in Denver over the weekend, police officials said.

Yusmary Carolina Panza-Ruiz, 35, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of kidnapping, two counts of extortion and one count of burglary, all felonies, the Aurora Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

Panza-Ruiz is one of 12 people allegedly involved in the kidnapping and torture of a man and woman at Edge of Lowry, 1218 Dallas St., in the early hours of Dec. 17. Two suspects are still at large, according to Aurora police.

Federal immigration officials previously linked the kidnapping suspects to Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, but Aurora police do not have verified information that Panza-Ruiz is connected to the gang, spokesperson Joe Moylan said.

Anyone with information about the case may contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
