One of two people rescued from a burning home in Denver’s Mar Lee neighborhood early Tuesday morning has died from their injuries, fire officials said.
Denver Fire crews responded to a house near South Hooker Street and West Alabama Place around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, the fire department said. When they arrived, crews found the house full of heavy flames and smoke.
The street is west of Federal Boulevard and north of West Louisiana Avenue.
Fire officials said two people were rescued from the burning house, at least one of whom was treated by paramedics at the scene of the fire. It’s not clear if the second resident was injured.
In a 9:52 am. update, Denver Fire officials said that one of the two had died. The victim will be identified by Denver’s Office of the Medical Examiner.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remains under investigation.
