1 injured in Broomfield road rage shooting, police search for suspect

One person was shot in the neck Saturday evening in a road rage incident near Broomfield’s Flatiron Crossing mall and police are searching for a suspect.

Broomfield officers responded to reports of a road rage shooting on eastbound U.S. 36, near where the highway intersects with Flatiron Crossing Drive, at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a Monday statement from the police department.

Paramedics took one person to the hospital who was shot in the neck, police said. That person, who has not been publicly identified, is expected to make a full recovery.

The victim’s car was also shot at least three times, police said.

Witnesses described the suspect’s car as a white sedan that was seen driving “recklessly” on eastbound U.S. 36 between McCaslin Boulevard and Interlocken Loop, police said.

As of Monday afternoon, police had not identified or arrested a suspect.

Anyone with information about the shooting or white sedan is asked to contact detectives at 720-887-5297 or ntrujillio@broomfield.org.
