A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night on the western edge of Aurora, just over a mile north of Cherry Creek Reservoir, police said.
Aurora officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 10800 block of East Bethany Drive at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the police department.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found one victim who had been shot, police said.
Paramedics took the man, who has not been publicly identified, to a hospital Tuesday with life-threatening injuries. In a Wednesday morning update, police said the man had died.
He will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
The block where the shooting happened is on the western edge of Aurora and is home to a used car dealership, a first aid training center, a Falck Rocky Mountain ambulance hub and Crescent View Academy for preschool and elementary school students.
As of Wednesday morning, no suspects had been identified and no arrests had been made.
