<p id=”par-1_30″>Big changes are coming to <a href=”https://cheatsheet.com/tag/hgtv”>HGTV</a>’s <em>Love It Or List</em>. The network has renewed the fan-favorite home renovation show for another season, but <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/hilary-farr-shares-details-love-it-or-list-it-renovation.html/”>long-time designer Hilary Farr</a> won’t be back. </p>

<p id=”par-2_53″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/love-it-or-list-it-hilary-farrs-acting-history-includes-some-steamy-roles.html/”><em>Love It Or List It</em></a><em> </em>premiered in 2008 and followed Farr and real estate agent David Visentin as they helped homeowners deal with their not-quite-right homes. Farr worked on transforming properties so that they better met the homeowners’ current needs, while Visentin tried to convince them to trade up for a better place. </p>
<p id=”par-3_45″>The new, eight-episode season will maintain that format, with familiar HGTV face Page Turner stepping into the designer role. Turner has appeared on <em>Fix My Flip, Flip or Flop Nashville, </em>and the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jonathan-knight-and-page-turner-weigh-in-going-rock-the-block-judges-contestants.html/”>competition series <em>Rock the Block</em></a><em>. </em>Episodes will premiere in the summer of 2025. </p>
<p id=”par-4_72″>“HGTV fans first came to love Page Turner on <em>Flip or Flop Nashville </em>and <em>Fix My Flip</em> and were introduced to her competitive side in two seasons of <em>Rock the Block</em>,” said HGTV’s head of content Loren Ruch. “Her extensive background in real estate and design will be a superpower as she enters into this celebrated real estate rivalry. We cannot wait to watch her give David a run for his money.” </p>

<p id=”par-5_29″>Farr appeared in more than 250 episodes of <em>Love It Or List It. </em>In December 2023, she announced that she was leaving the series, which she said had become<br>“boring.” </p>
<p id=”par-6_42″>“I’ve been doing the show for years and I have loved doing it,” she told <a href=”https://www.vulture.com/article/hilary-farr-leaving-love-it-or-list-it-exit-interview.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Vulture</a>. “But in the last season, which we did in Canada, it just felt too much like work. It felt very stale. It’s a very formulaic show.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_43″>The grind of filming, especially during the pandemic, also wore on Farr. In late 2020 and early 2021, she was filming <em>Love It Or List It </em>in Toronto and Raleigh, North Carolina, and her other show, <em>Tough Love With Hilary Farr, </em>in Philadelphia. </p>
<p id=”par-8_44″>“[T]he pandemic played a huge part in my decision,” she said. “The degree of difficulty has been huge … I was bouncing back and forth, and in between that I couldn’t get to Canada because of the pandemic. It was an extraordinarily stressful time.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_26″>Farr added that she didn’t have any issues with her co-host, with whom she’s long had a friendly rivalry. But she was ready for something new. </p>
<p id=”par-10_52″>“I’ve always loved working with David and the actual work was great, but as you say, behind the scenes, the design, the difficulty, the supply-line issues, the delays … everybody was stressed, and it just felt different,” she said. “It was taking up too much of my life and it was boring.”</p>
