<p id=”par-1_59″>The Kansas City Chiefs losing <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/7-super-bowl-lix-questions-answered-kickoff-halftime-show-performers.html/”>Super Bowl LIX</a> means <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/travis-kelce/”>Travis Kelce</a> and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/taylor-swift/”>Taylor Swift</a> have a “huge hurdle” in their relationship. The tight end and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” singer face one of the “biggest tests” of their relationship which, according to a body language expert, is how they “console” each other after the loss. </p>

<p id=”par-2_58″>The Super Bowl at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., didn’t go how Kelce—or Swift or any KC fans for that matter—planned. On Feb. 9, 2025, the Chiefs trailed the Philadelphia Eagles ultimately losing 40-22 and failing to secure a “three-peat.” There was more to the game than Swift getting <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/taylor-swift-said-booed-super-bowl-according-lip-reader.html/”>booed by the crowd</a> and the Chiefs falling short. </p>
<p id=”par-3_48″>According to body language expert Judi James, it showed a shift in Kelce and Swift’s relationship. “For me, the Super Bowl was the moment that America’s sweethearts, Taylor and Travis, morphed into this much more tragic Romeo and Juliet figures, complete with balcony scene,” James told <a href=”https://www.the-sun.com/sport/13497682/travis-kelce-taylor-swift-romeo-juliet-body-language-super-bowl/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebarweb” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Sun</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-4_45″>“I have never seen Travis looking forlorn and miserable. Clearly, they were losing badly but I’ve only ever seen him with his usual signature, boyish, rather smug, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/travis-kelce-all-in-taylor-swift-relationship-major-way.html/”>happy in love</a> smile on his face. Seeing him hunched out there was very much [a] new look.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_32″>Meanwhile, “Taylor was like Juliet.” One moment she looked like a “gleeful teenage fan, laughing with her friends, [and] sharing whispers.” The next fans were booing when she appeared on the jumbotron. </p>
<p id=”par-6_55″>“Suddenly you have this change to her on the balcony,” James said. “One moment you see her standing there alone, presumably looking over at her man, clutching the balcony rail in her hands looking quite ethereal and ghostly. It’s a quite haunting picture of her. It must have been very haunting for him as well.”</p>

<p id=”par-7_35″>As for the “big challenge” Kelce and Swift face, it’s how they’ll deal with KC’s loss at the Super Bowl. According to James, it’ll likely be one of “biggest tests” in their relationship thus far. </p>
<p id=”par-8_39″>“One of the biggest tests is when you’ve got to console somebody that is very miserable,” the body language expert explained. “Perhaps when your own ego is hurt as well. That’s going to be a huge hurdle for them.” </p>
<p id=”par-9_42″>“I imagine they will get through it,” she added, “but it will be a big challenge for them.” Remember, the Chiefs dominated during the regular season. They only lost two games before ultimately losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. </p>
<p id=”par-10_33″>However, Kelce’s not alone in losing. Even though Swift has had a banner year—or more accurately <em>years</em>—with her record-breaking Eras tour, she <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/taylor-swift-didnt-win-grammy-awards-simple-reason.html/”>didn’t win any Grammys</a> the week ahead of the Super Bowl. </p>

<p id=”par-12_45″>Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023 after the NFL star expressed his disappointment on his “New Heights” podcast about not being able to give the “Fortnight” singer a friendship bracelet with his number on it as the Eras tour got underway. </p>
