<p id=”par-1_50″>Prince Harry’s relationship with the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/royal-family/”>royal family</a> has only deteriorated over time. He released a memoir, a documentary, and even <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-harry-answer-loved-ones-how-could-you-question-oprah-interview.html/”>participated in several interviews</a> after leaving the royal family, all of which shed plenty of negativity onto his relatives. For that reason, Harry and his family are anything but close.</p>
<p id=”par-2_40″>Still, though, King Charles loves his son and wants to make amends with him while he still has the chance. Charles is reportedly trying to take a trip to California, though insiders say other royal family members “can’t understand why.”</p>

<p id=”par-3_79″>Charles and Harry are on greater speaking terms now than they were a few years ago, but things between the two men have not been fully patched up. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-harry-says-i-love-my-family-asked-about-king-charles-cancer-diagnosis.html/”>Harry did visit his father</a> back in February after Charles revealed his cancer diagnosis, although when Harry returned to the UK in May, the two men did not see each other. But rumor has it Charles wants to head to California to see Harry and Meghan Markle’s new way of life.</p>
<p id=”par-4_85″>“He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet will not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be,” royal expert Tom Quinn said in an interview, according to <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1917453/king-charles-discussions-visit-prince-harry-william”>Express</a>. A source told <a href=”https://www.newidea.com.au/”>New Idea</a> magazine that Charles is “feeling a little better” after having undergone cancer treatment and wouldn’t be opposed to taking a trip to Montecito to spend some time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, not everyone is on board with the idea.</p>
<p id=”par-5_56″>“William can’t understand why Charles would go out on a limb like this,” the source told New Idea. “Camilla is against the trip for health reasons. The Australia tour in October is going to be a lot for a man of his age with cancer, let alone an emotional transatlantic journey to visit his estranged son.”</p>

But Charles being willing to fly all the way to Montecito could be the olive branch that Harry has waited for all this time. For several years, Harry has wanted the royals to say sorry for their treatment of him and Meghan Markle, and although they have not received a formal apology, the visit might be Charles’ way of doing just that.</p>
<p id=”par-7_39″>Much still remains to be seen regarding whether Charles will actually get out there to spend time with his son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren, but it could be a step in the right direction if it comes to fruition.</p>
