Ahead, the adorable message Louis had for his “Granny and Grandpa.” </p>

<p id=”par-2_45″>The Princess of Wales’ festive service at Westminster Abbey on Dec. 6, 2024, went beyond Christmas carols. In keeping with this year’s theme of love and kindness, a “Kindness Tree” greeted guests when they entered the storied house of worship in London, England (via <a href=”https://people.com/inside-kate-middleton-carol-service-according-to-an-attendee-exclusive-8757908″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>). </p>
<p id=”par-3_41″>Positioned near the entrance, helpers handed out red labels and pens to the carol concert’s 1,6000 guests “so you could write a note to hang on [the tree] before you went in,” Jenny Powell, who attended the service, told the outlet. </p>
<p id=”par-4_38″>The short notes were in addition to a letter penned by Kate that was left on every seat in keeping the service’s dedication to those “who have shown love, kindness, and empathy to others in their communities.” </p>

<p id=”par-5_50″>This is where Louis came in. Like Kate’s previous Christmas carol concerts, the young royal attended the festive event alongside the entire Wales family. That means his dad, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/”>Prince William</a>, the Prince of Wales, was there along with Louis and his older siblings, Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 9. </p>
<p id=”par-6_74″>George, Charlotte, and Louis arrived at the carol service holding their red tags for the “Kindness Tree.” With William and Kate in tow, the young royals stopped at the tree. Cameras spotted the message Louis wrote to his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Carole and Michael Middleton, who also went to the concert. (Sorry, King Charles III and Queen Camilla.) It read: “Thank you to Granny and Grandpa because they have played games with me.” </p>
<p id=”par-7_27″>Louis’ sweet message came after Kate’s parents were seen—in a blink-and-miss-it moment—during her September 2024 <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/kate-middletons-viral-cancer-update-video-predicted-timeless-tiktok.html/”>cancer update video</a> playing cards with William, Kate, George, Charlotte, and Louis. </p>

During a 2021 <a href=”https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/uk/lifestyle/a35693403/carole-middleton/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Good Housekeeping</a> interview, Carole, 69, who has reportedly been a <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/kate-middletons-mom-carole-reportedly-driving-force-holding-wales-family-together-right-now.html/”>“Mary Poppins” type</a> of figure to the Wales family this year, expressed her desire to stay active. </p>
<p id=”par-9_45″>“I want to run down the hills, climb the trees and go through the tunnel at the playground,” she said. “As long as I am able to, that’s what I’ll be doing. I cook with them, I muck around dancing, we go on bike rides.” </p>
<p id=”par-10_39″>Kate’s parents are, a “palace insider” previously told <a href=”https://people.com/kate-middleton-parents-carole-michael-middleton-appear-family-video-8708889″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>, an “enduring factor in the upbringing of their grandchildren.” Carole and Michael, 75, are a “constant presence in their grandchildren’s lives, often having George, Charlotte and Louis over for sleepovers.” </p>
