<p id=”par-2_62″>Kristin Davis presents herself a lot like she portrays her on-screen character, Charlotte York. Davis, born and raised in the South, has lots of Southern charm and the manners to go with it. She’s charismatic, good-natured, and warm in pretty much every public interaction we’ve seen. While Charlotte was from Connecticut’s most affluent enclave, she was similarly well-mannered, sweet-natured, and also laser-focused.</p>

<p id=”par-3_63″>Davis has spent so many years portraying Charlotte that the lines between actor and character seem a bit blurred. Davis agrees, and over the years, she’s talked about the characteristics she shares with Charlotte. <p id=”par-4_97″>While Davis contends that she shares a lot of qualities with her beloved character, there is one major way she and Charlotte deviate. During an appearance on <em><a target=”_blank” href=”https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/icymi-kristin-davis-is-a-little-bit-like-charlotte/id1644403585?i=1000633134621″ rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Best Friend Energy</a></em>, Davis said that, unlike Charlotte, she was never focused on marriage. In fact, she was so uninterested that she took a mostly anti-marriage stance. Davis revealed that while her friends were tying the knot, she made the decision to focus on her career. Charlotte would never. The Upper East Side resident was obsessed with the idea of getting married, and she did so twice in six seasons.</p>

<p id=”par-5_87″>Davis’ stance on marriage is decidedly unlike Charlotte’s, but it echoes the sentiments of a different but still beloved <em>Sex and the City </em>character. Davis’s take on marriage more closely mimics <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/and-just-like-that-the-first-sign-that-something-was-different-about-miranda-hobbes.html/”>Miranda Hobbes’ opinion </a>of the institution. While Miranda was OK with a committed relationship, she was never overly focused on marriage. In fact, she was pretty anti-marriage until season 6 of the original series, when she decided to marry Steve Brady. Still, even as a married woman, she exuded a general disinterest in traditional married life.</p>

<p id=”par-6_77″>Interestingly enough, Cynthia Nixon, the actor who portrays Miranda, has always been more marriage-minded. Nixon was married to Danny Mozes during her time on <em>Sex and the City</em>. She was<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sex-and-the-city-cynthia-nixon-wanted-carrie-miranda-labor.html/”> pregnant with their second child</a> on-screen. In 2003, she finalized her divorce from Mozes. Nixon moved into another relationship relatively quickly, and in 2012, she married Christine Marinoni. The couple is still together and shares one child. Kristin Davis has never been married. She has two children.</p>
