Diddy” Combs likely never imagined he’d be spending multiple nights at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-p-diddy-combs-no-choice-sell-la-mansion-due-legal-fees-source-says.html/”>He pleads not guilty to the charges</a> against him, which include sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. While his trial has yet to start, he and his legal team are prepping him while he stays in jail. </p>
<p id=”par-3_46″>Combs won’t have access to his typical luxuries while detained. However, he can still have some personal items that might make his stay more bearable. According to the <a href=”https://www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/bro/bro_ao-handbook.pdf?v=1.0.0″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Inmate Admission and Orientation Handbook</a>, inmates can have letters, books, photographs, magazines, and newspapers in limited quantities. </p>
<p id=”par-4_20″>“Ordinarily, photographs, particularly those of family and friends, are approved, since they represent<br>meaningful ties to the community,” the handbook reads.</p>
<p id=”par-5_38″>The hip-hop star can also have crafting materials if they fit in his secure area. He will receive a locked or secure space to store his belongings. Some approved items can also be stored under his bed. </p>
<p id=”par-6_23″>Combs can have one approved radio or MP3 player and watch at a time. Inmates have to prove they own these items. </p>
<p id=”par-7_20″>As for jewelry, inmates can bring a plain wedding band and a religious medallion and chain that doesn’t contain stones.</p>
<p id=”par-8_20″>“Excess personal property” that may become a fire hazard or impair staff cell searches cannot be accumulated by any inmates.</p>

Unfortunately, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-p-diddy-combs-jail-known-poor-living-conditions-rotten-food-power-outages.html/”>the jail has a dangerous reputation</a>. According to <a href=”https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/inside-the-brooklyn-federal-jail-where-sean-diddy-combs-is-locked-up-described-as-hell-on-earth#:~:text=Combs’%20lawyer%2C%20Marc%20Agnifilo%2C,Bureau%20of%20Prisons%20to%20decide.” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>PBS</a>, inmates complained about violence, bad conditions, staffing shortages, and drug smuggling — some of which employees conducted. At least four people who have been detained in the jail have died by suicide in the last three years. </p>
<p id=”par-10_14″>Ghislaine Maxwell spent time in the jail and told DailyMail.com about her negative experience.</p>
<p id=”par-11_50″>“I have not had a nutritious meal in all that time,” she said, according to the <a href=”https://nypost.com/2021/11/13/ghislaine-maxwell-gripes-about-rats-creepy-guards-at-nyc-lockup/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>New York Post</a>. “I haven’t slept without lights on – fluorescent lights that have damaged my eyes – or been allowed to sleep without constant interruptions.” She said the conditions left her without “stamina.”</p>

<p id=”par-12_52″>Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ lawyers fought for him to attain bail. His legal reps proposed a bail package that would remove Combs’ access to a phone, internet, or female visitors. Combs also said he would partake in drug testing if allowed to remain in his home. Unfortunately, the judges denied bail twice.</p>
<p id=”par-13_24″>“My bigger concern deals with the danger of obstruction of justice and the danger of witness tampering,” Judge Andrew Carter said, according to <a href=”https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/18/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-appeal-bail-denial-wednesday/index.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>CNN</a>.</p>
