This led to the music mogul canceling his big bash a couple of times, which was unprecedented for him.</p>

<p id=”par-2_88″>Diddy’s birthday parties were just as famous and notorious as his other festivities. So much so that there was one birthday party <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-p-diddy-combs-not-remember-pajama-birthday-party-2014.html/”>he couldn’t even remember</a>. But Diddy couldn’t enjoy the milestone of turning 50 since he was still grieving over Porter’s death. The former model died on November, 15, 2018. The Bad Boys CEO confided that he and Porter even talked about his 50<sup>th</sup> birthday prior to her passing. So when the day finally came, Diddy wasn’t in the mood to celebrate, canceling his birthday bash twice.</p>
<p id=”par-3_26″>“I wasn’t feeling it,” Diddy said in an interview with <a href=”https://people.com/music/diddy-50th-birthday-party-canceled-twice-kim-porter/”>People</a>. “I didn’t want to be fake. I wanted to be at a point of strength.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_47″>However, Diddy eventually found a way to work around the issue. The rapper, whose birthday was on November 4, pushed back the party so it coincided with Porter’s birthday, which was December 15<sup>th</sup>. Instead, Diddy would celebrate his ex’s birthday, who would’ve turned 49 at the time.</p>
<p id=”par-5_20″>“I thought, ‘I can have a party with Kim and we can party together,’” Diddy said. “It worked out beautifully.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_13″>From Diddy’s account of the party, it was something Poter would’ve definitey enjoyed.</p>
<p id=”par-7_19″>“It was probably one of the most authentic nights of love that I ever experienced. I’m blessed,” he said.</p>

<p id=”par-8_54″>Diddy didn’t forget to pay tribute to the late Porter on December, 2023. His controversy hadn’t reached its peak back then, but it was still heavily brewing around that time. Still, according to <a href=”https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/745402-diddy-celebrates-kim-porter-birthday”>Hot New Hip Hop</a>, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/diddy-family-tree-guide-sean-combs-kids-partners-parents-siblings.html/”>Diddy and his kids</a> took the time to give the love of his life another loud shout-out.</p>
<p id=”par-9_13″>“We miss you so much Kim,” Diddy said. “Happy birthday beautiful! Love forever.”</p>

<p id=”par-11_29″>Porter’s birthday wasn’t the only occasion where Diddy wanted to honor his late ex. He confided that Mother’s Day would also be a challenge to get through without Porter.</p>
<p id=”par-12_93″>“Mother’s Day is going to hurt,” Diddy once told <a href=”https://www.essence.com/celebrity/shacarri-richardson-essence-cover-2025/”>Essence</a>. “We definitely are going to celebrate all the mothers. We’re not going to get in the way of that. Honestly, anybody that has lost a mother or lost a soulmate — it takes time. It takes time. They say time heals all wounds when it comes to mothers … I don’t think that’s the case. That’s not a negative thing because as people, we need wounds. You need something to sting you sometimes and keep you on point and teach you a lesson.”</p>
<p id=”par-13_19″>In the emotional interview, Diddy acknowledged that he might not have been telling readers what they wanted to hear.</p>
<p id=”par-14_41″>“I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m going to figure something out though. This hurts so much. I know that people want to hear the good stuff, but it hurts and there ain’t no way around that,” he said.</p>
<p id=”par-15_28″>But Diddy didn’t only focus on the sadness Porter’s death brought him during the interview. He also reflected on the lessons Porter taught him while she was alive.</p>
<p id=”par-16_53″>“God sent her for me to teach me something,” he added. “There’s levels and dimensions to love, and especially love between a man and woman. There’s this place that almost goes beyond friendship. It’s where two people actually feel like a level of responsibility to love this person forever; and a total trust.”</p>
