<p id=”par-2_67″>The Metropolitan Detention Center went into lockdown following a race riot in late February 2025. According to <a href=”https://www.themirror.com/entertainment/p-diddy-lockdown-inside-hell-1009071″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Mirror US</a>, “more than 40” inmates had involvement in the riot. This resulted in a lockdown of the entire prison. High-profile inmates like Sean “Diddy” Combs and Luigi Mangione did not have involvement in the riot. But they now feel the effects as the jail works under “modified operation.”</p>
<p id=”par-3_25″>“The Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Brooklyn was placed on modified operations on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025,” Federal Bureau of Prisons officials confirmed with the publication.</p>
<p id=”par-4_45″>A prison spokesperson further explained how “wardens may establish controls or implement temporary security measures to ensure the good order and security of their institution,” during a lockdown scenario. Combs will not receive visits from friends and family due to the increased security measures. </p>
<p id=”par-5_32″>“In securing their facility, it is always the hope that this security measure will be short-lived, and that the facility will return to normal operations as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson continued.</p>
<p id=”par-6_60″>The spokesperson noted that all inmates still receive “at least three meals per day, potable water, unit team employees, medical and psychological services, and other departmental employees. Also, incarcerated individuals are offered the opportunity to shower on a rotational basis, and they maintain continued access to communicate with loved ones by sending and receiving mail via the U.S. Postal Service.”</p>
