<p id=”par-1_47″>Charlamagne tha God, who spearheads discussions surrounding mental health, celebrities, and other topics on his radio show, <em>The Breakfast Club</em>, believes <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/sean-diddy-combs/”>Sean “Diddy” Combs</a>‘s crimes of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for purposes of prostitution highlight a bigger societal problem that desperately needs addressing: domestic abuse.</p>

<p id=”par-2_44″>Charlamagne tha God sat down with Dan Abrams of<a href=”https://www.facebook.com/reel/1128713781732891″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> News Nation</a>. He discussed the accusations leveled against Sean “Diddy” Combs. He said, “What bothers me the most is just constantly seeing people make poor decisions and poor choices. Which cause them to self-destruct.” </p>
<p id=”par-3_34″>“I think even with this situation, one thing I think we get lost in is the celebrity of it all. I think you have to focus on the issues, not the individual,” he continued.</p>
<p id=”par-4_19″>“Whatever happens to him happens to him. He’s going to have to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/russell-brand-cant-say-no-sean-diddy-combs.html/?swcfpc=1″>deal with the consequences</a> of his actions.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_42″>Charlamagne concluded, “You see it happening now. The empire has fallen professionally and the only thing he can do right now is get his soul right. But what about the issue of domestic violence? Of patriarchy or unhealed trauma inside of people?”</p>

<p id=”par-6_42″>Charlamagne tha God elaborated on his belief that the case against Sean “Diddy” Combs highlights an even larger societal problem on the daytime talk series<a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=itoha_ABgH8″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> <em>The View</em></a>. Instead of focusing on Combs’ celebrity, he would rather the focus be on <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/wendy-williams-warning-sean-diddy-combs-explained.html/?swcfpc=1″>his behavior</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-7_57″>“We get lost in the celebrity and not the actual issue, which is domestic violence,” Charlamagne said, alluding to Combs’ behavior toward his ex-Cassie Ventura. “The issue is men not doing the proper work on themselves. Dealing with a lot of pain and hurt, and unhealed trauma and they’re projecting that pain and hurt on other people.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_49″>He concluded, “The issue is patriarchy. As long as you have a system where men feel superior to women, and they’re dealing with their pain, we’re going to continue to project that on women. Diddy brings the engagement, but somewhere out there, there’s a woman who’s getting beat up.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_23″>Combs’ illegal behaviors, not the fact that he’s famous, are what ultimately landed him in jail. He has been incarcerated since September 2024.</p>

<p id=”par-10_46″>According to<a href=”https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2024/10/10/diddy-jail-court-hearing-live-updates/75597105007/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> USA Today</a>, Judge Arun Subramanian, who is presiding over Sean “Diddy” Combs’ case, set a hearing date of May 5, 2025. Combs’ lawyers have tried three times thus far to have the music mogul released on bail until his court date but remain unsuccessful.</p>
<p id=”par-11_27″>The music and entertainment mogul has been <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-living-saying-jail-lawyer-says.html/?swcfpc=1″>behind bars</a> at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since Sept. 17, 2024. Combs is due back in court on Dec. 18.</p>
<p id=”par-12_35″>Combs is awaiting trial on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. He was arrested after a series of civil suits alleging sexual assault and physical violence, some going back as far as 20 years prior.</p>
<p id=”par-13_54″>In November 2023, Cassie Ventura, Combs’ girlfriend for 11 years, filed a suit against him alleging sex trafficking and sexual assault. In May 2024, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-lawyer-explained-attacked-cassie-hotel-footage.html/?swcfpc=1″>surveillance footage</a> showed Combs assaulting Ventura in a 2016 altercation. Since Cassie’s lawsuit, it has been reported that there are more than 100 new legal actions subsequently filed against Combs.</p>
