Royal Chef Gives Brutal 4-Word Remark About Meghan Markle’s Netflix Cooking Show

People have not been able to stop talking about Meghan Markle‘s Netflix show since it premiered on March 4. While the duchess’s fans have enjoyed With Love, Meghan, the former Suits star‘s critics have also spoken out.

Many reviewers have taken to <a href=”https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/with_love_meghan/s01/reviews?type=user” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Rotten Tomatoes and given the series one star or just a half-a-star rating. A common complaint is that the show is “fake” and “unrelatable.”

Some of the commenters sounded off about it being filmed in a “fake house, fake garden, fake beehives” and “just all seemed fake.” While others couldn’t relate to anything Meghan said as none of it seemed like natural conversation, writing: “There isn’t 1% of genuine relatable dialogue. It’s forced.”

Of course, we have no idea what members of the royal family think of the series or if they even watched it, but we do know what someone who has cooked for them thinks of With Love, Meghan.

“I cooked for the queen free of charge, of course,” he said. “And I’ll cook for anyone, but let me just say, some people will have to pay. I’d let [Meghan] in the restaurant, for sure, but the queen had the red carpet rolled out. Would Meghan? I don’t think so.”

Corrigan watched Meghan’s Netflix series and told the <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-14488061/royal-chef-meghan-markle-netflix-serie.html?ico=authors_pagination_mobile” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail that he agrees with the reviewers who called it “so fake and forced and pretentious.”

“It’s a bit pretentious,” he said. “I don’t like the pretense. California is all very Hollywood, it’s all very samey — Britain is not like that. I don’t think anyone likes people doing cheap TV.”

Corrigan compared Prince Harry and Meghan to Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. Like Meghan, Simpson was an American divorcee but unlike Harry, Edward VII was the king and had to abdicate the throne to marry Simpson. Even after the abdication, Edward caused a few headaches for the royals over the years. Corrigan now believes that the Sussexes have become a “burden” on King Charles.

He explained: “The royals are a nice bunch — we all have odd ones in the family … You can never be responsible for who your children marry, and you shouldn’t be — they have to make their way in the world. If you’re gonna leave [royal life], buy yourself a nice pad and entertain and enjoy yourself, but don’t become a burden.”
