<p id=”par-1_51″>More than 25 years after <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/these-were-princess-dianas-last-words-before-she-died.html/”>Princess Diana’s death</a>, people around the world still remember the tireless work she did to help others. Now, one of Diana’s former confidants is looking back on that work and pointing out why <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/?swcfpc=1″>Prince Harry</a> can’t complete what his mother started, only <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/?swcfpc=1″>Prince William</a> can. </p>

<p id=”par-3_54″>Paul Burrell began working in the royal household when he was 18 years old and served as Queen Elizabeth II‘s personal footman. In 1987, he was moved to the household of then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana. When they separated, Burrell served as Diana’s butler and looked after her and her sons until <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/can-remember-when-princess-diana-died.html/?swcfpc=1″>the princess’s tragic death</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-4_49″>During his years working with the princess, Burrell became one of her closest confidants. He knew how much she loved her children and her work and hoped that they would be able to continue her legacy. But Burrell insists that’s not something Harry can do now, only William. </p>

<p id=”par-5_56″>Speaking on behalf of <a href=”https://www.spingenie.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Spin Genie</a>, Burrell explained: “We were robbed. If you think to yourself, what <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/queen-elizabeth-ii-dead-british-monarch-dies-96.html/”>the [late] queen</a> achieved in her lifetime, what would Diana have achieved in hers? She was 36 years old … People have to remind themselves that she was 36 years old and she’d just begun her work really.” </p>
<p id=”par-6_84″>He continued: “Although she’d packed so much into her life, she was just being launched onto the world stage with the landmines campaign, with work around the world, and it was cut short, and that’s where Harry and William’s passion takes over. Both of them in their own way, want to continue down as work and finish that legacy. That’s their passion, I have to admire them both to continue along their mother’s path. But I don’t agree with Harry’s way of doing it.</p>
<p id=”par-7_97″>“Harry has great conflict in the fact that his mother was a member of the royal family, his mother supported the royal family until she died, and Harry has bolted from the stable and he can’t continue the work in the same vein that his mother did because he’s no longer royal. You’ve got to look where they are in the world. Harry just can’t do it to the same effect. He can’t do it the way William can and so I’m afraid it’s going to be down to William to complete his mother’s work, not Harry.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_38″>Princess Diana’s former butler also opined that if his former boss was alive today the rift between her sons wouldn’t have lasted this long because she would have put a stop to it a long time ago. </p>
<p id=”par-9_134″>According to Burrell, “There’s no way back for Harry, or Meghan. I don’t think there’s any way back for them. I know that there are people out there that support Meghan and Harry and I do get nasty emails from time to time to say, ‘Why are you so against Harry when he’s Diana’s son?’ I’m not against Harry, ‘Diana’s son’. I’m against Harry, who has come up against his brother, a member of the royal family — two different things here. Of course, he is Diana’s son, and I acknowledge that and I wish things were different. If Diana was here, they would be different because she wouldn’t stand for this nonsense, and she would have sorted it out long before now, but unfortunately, there’s nobody here [who] can sort it out. </p>
<p id=”par-10_85″>“Harry has made his bed, and he’s got to lie in it. Unfortunately, every now and then, there’s a megaphone that shouts a noise from the other side of the Atlantic and we have to listen to something. We don’t know what it is, it’s just noise, it doesn’t mean anything. It’s just noise. Just get on with your life … we’re happy for you, but just stop interfering in family business, because family business is controlled here in the United Kingdom, not in Montecito.”</p>
