His estranged brother, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/”>Prince William</a>, has one coming about homelessness, and his advocacy work to eradicate it in the U.K. As the first preview drops, here are details on <em>Prince William: We Can End Homelessness</em>, from how long it took to film and where to expect the Prince of Wales, 42, in it. </p>

<p id=”par-2_29″>On Oct. 5, 2924, William shared a preview clip of his new documentary on his and Kate Middleton’s official <a href=”https://x.com/KensingtonRoyal/status/1842512977074790592″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>X</a> account, formerly Twitter, as well as their Instagram account. </p>
<p id=”par-3_41″>“I think it’s really important that we can try and change and tackle the narrative around homelessness,” he replied when asked about the origins of his “passion with this particular issue comes from” and why he decided to focus on homelessness. </p>
<p id=”par-4_47″>“People live with it, we see it every day in our lives, [and] that’s something I want to challenge,” he added. William grew up going to homeless shelters with his late mother, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/princess-diana/”>Princess Diana</a>, which, as he’s said in the past, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/expert-says-3-women-prince-williams-life-helped-make-him-the-man-he-is-today.html/”>had a profound impact</a> on him.</p>

<p id=”par-5_55″>As for what viewers can expect from William’s documentary on homelessness, it charts the early days of his Homewards initiative across six U.K. locations. The future king unveiled his five-year plan to end homelessness in the region, including housing on <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-william-duchy-cornwall-family-angle-comment-king-charles-couldnt-believe-it-reduced-me-to-tears.html/”>Duchy of Cornwall</a> land, which he oversees in his capacity as the Prince of Wales. </p>
<p id=”par-6_40″>Director Leo Burley opened up about the documentary’s content in a statement. “Over the past year we have spent time following Prince William and The Royal Foundation through the first year of the Homewards programme [sic],” he said (via <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1919808/prince-william-to-star-in-itv-documentary-aimed-at-ending-homelessness” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Express</a>). </p>
<p id=”par-7_28″>Burley went on to say he “heard some incredibly moving stories from people across the country facing homelessness,” ranging from “street homelessness” to “temporary accommodation” and “youth homelessness.” </p>
<p id=”par-8_44″>How does William fit in? He sits down for an interview, part of which can be seen in the preview. Cameras are said to have also captured footage of him meeting with a man who spent years of his life being homeless (via <a href=”https://www.itv.com/news/2024-10-05/prince-william-says-important-to-tackle-the-narrative-around-homelessness” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>ITV</a>).</p>

<p id=”par-9_37″>The official release date for William’s documentary about homelessness in the U.K. has yet to be announced. However, the preview did provide a hint, saying it’s “coming soon” to ITV and ITVX. How soon, though, is unclear. </p>
<p id=”par-10_50″>Per a previous <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1919808/prince-william-to-star-in-itv-documentary-aimed-at-ending-homelessness” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Express</a> report, it’s slated for an “autumn” premiere. The timeline tracks, considering his team dropped the preview clip barely a week into October. The documentary might premiere later in the month. Or perhaps even in November, ahead of William’s trip to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize Awards. </p>
<p id=”par-11_39″>Another factor to consider is the royal family’s calendar. The release of William’s documentary is unlikely to overlap with other major events. So don’t expect it to air when <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/king-charles/”>King Charles III</a> goes<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/king-charles-reportedly-denial-oceania-royal-tour-fall.html/”> to Australia</a> from Oct. 18-26, 2024. </p>
