The Princess of Wales married <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/”>Prince William</a>, the son of King Charles (and grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was the reigning monarch at the time of their wedding) back in 2011. <p id=”par-2_48″>There was a moment shortly after Kate’s father, Michael Middleton, walked her down the aisle that William and Michael shared a bit of a silly moment. With so many people watching, William decided to whisper a nine-word joke to the man who was about to be his father-in-law.</p>

And as Michael was about to give his daughter away, William looked at him and joked, “We’re supposed to have just a small family affair.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_75″>Of course, it likely eased the nerves of the moment as nearly 2,000 people filled Westminster Abbey to watch the royal wedding. Plus, thousands of people took to the streets to celebrate the couple, and millions of people watched on television. Needless to say, it was anything but a small family affair. Of course, it was the biggest royal event to occur in decades, so it’s no surprise that it pulled such a massive viewership.</p>
