<p id=”par-1_68″>Before <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/meghan-markle/?swcfpc=1″>Meghan Markle</a> and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/kate-middleton/”>Kate Middleton</a>, Princess Diana was one of the most photographed women in the world just like <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/meghan-markle-kate-middletons-comments-mother-in-law-princess-diana-go-viral.html/”>her daughters-in-law</a> are today. Also, like her sons’ wives, Diana did humanitarian work with organizations for causes close to her heart. Both Kate and Meghan have drawn comparisons to their mother-in-law when they paid tribute to her by wearing accessories that once belonged to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/these-were-princess-dianas-last-words-before-she-died.html/”>the late princess</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-2_24″>But something Meghan did recently brought about more comparisons to Princess Diana, which the future king calls “offensive” to him and his wife. </p>

<p id=”par-4_44″>During their three-day tour, some royal watchers pointed out that Meghan donned pieces of jewelry reminiscent of what William and Harry’s mom would wear on tour and also acted as if she was on a royal visit, which led to Princess Diana comparisons. </p>

<p id=”par-5_46″>According to a source, the Palace was well aware of the Sussexes’ tour and the Prince of Wales is not happy that the duchess “paraded around as the modern-day version” of his late mother as he found it “offensive” to the new Princess of Wales. </p>
<p id=”par-6_46″>The insider told <a href=”https://closeronline.co.uk/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Closer</a> magazine: “William doesn’t want to deprive Harry of the right to celebrate their mother’s legacy. What bothers him is how Meghan’s paraded around as the modern-day version of Diana, he finds that beyond tasteless and offensive, not only to him but also to Kate.”</p>

<p id=”par-7_17″>There have been claims for years that being the next Princess Diana was always Meghan’s ultimate goal.</p>
<p id=”par-8_41″>“She always thought that she could drift into the royal family and become the new Princess Diana and all she would have to do is doll herself up and smile to the camera,” said former politician and broadcaster David Mellor per <a href=”https://okmagazine.com/p/meghan-markle-determined-get-closer-julia-roberts-team-up/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>OK! Magazine</a>.</p>

<p id=”par-9_34″>The duchess’s childhood best friend, Ninaki Priddy, who served as the maid of honor in the former <em>Suits </em>star’s wedding to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/meghan-markle-worried-sick-over-news-ex-husband-trevor-engelson-received-offers-book-deal.html/?swcfpc=1″>her first husband Trevor Engelson</a>, agrees and insists that Meghan wants to be “Diana 2.0.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_89″>“She was always fascinated by the royal family,” Priddy told the <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5137785/Meghan-Markle-revelations-friend-knew-best.html#ixzz53dk8jcYe” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail</a>, adding, “She wanted to be Princess Diana 2.0. She had one of Princess Diana’s books on her bookshelf, and even when she was with Trevor, she told me she wanted to go and stay in London for at least a month … I wasn’t shocked or even surprised to hear about Prince Harry. I knew she used to love <em>The Princess</em> <em>Diaries</em> films about a commoner who becomes part of a royal family. She was very taken with that idea.”</p>
<p id=”par-11_60″>Princess Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton, who authored a book about the Duchess of Sussex as well titled <em>Meghan: A Hollywood Princess</em>, heard that too. Morton wrote that he spoke to people who knew Harry’s wife and they all agreed she was “intrigued by Diana. Not just for her style, but for her independent humanitarian mission, seeing her as a role model.”</p>
