<p id=”par-1_51″><a href=”http://cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william”>Prince William</a> and his younger brother, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/?swcfpc=1″>Prince Harry</a>, have not had a close relationship in years. Things between the brothers hit a breaking point after Harry married Meghan Markle, and once Harry and Meghan relocated to the United States, there was little opportunity for the brothers to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-harry-damaging-2-word-response-prince-william-wanted-peace-meeting.html/?swcfpc=1″>work through their problems</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-2_23″>Now, one insider says William considers Harry to be “background noise” in his life as he keeps his family away from his brother.</p>

<p id=”par-3_74″>Harry and William were close enough growing up, but there have always been rumors that the two <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-william-prince-harry-never-close-spare.html/”>weren’t actually as close</a> as people wanted to believe. Of course, as they grew older and more independent, things only continued to go downhill, as the public has seen. But now, insiders claim that William and Harry don’t speak at all and that William considers his brother to be nothing more than “background noise” in his life.</p>
<p id=”par-4_70″>Paul Burrell, who is Princess Diana’s former butler and previously worked with William and Harry, told Closer Magazine (via <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1920668/prince-william-keeping-family-away-prince-harry-meghan-markle”>Express</a>), “Make no mistake, William is keeping Kate and his family well away from Meghan and Harry. The door of Adelaide Cottage is shut — and there is no way in for Harry and Meghan. William knows that Harry can’t be trusted and doesn’t want any more upset in his family.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_34″>Burrell also made the comment about William seeing Harry and Meghan as “background noise,” which makes sense given that William is fully focused on two things: His wife’s health, and preparing to become king.</p>

<p id=”par-6_51″>In a perfect world, Harry and William would become best friends, and the royal family would live happily ever after. However, the two brothers have not been close in years, and despite a number of situations offering a chance for them <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/royal-fans-should-give-up-hope-reconciliation-after-prince-william-disowns-prince-harry.html/”>to repair their relationship</a>, it has been to no avail.</p>
<p id=”par-7_80″>Prince Philip died in 2021, opening the door for Harry and William to have a sit-down and work through their issues. However, they did try, but it was unsuccessful. Since then, the public thought Queen Elizabeth II’s death would bring them all closer, but it didn’t. And in 2024, King Charles and Kate Middleton were both diagnosed with cancer, creating even more of a chance for the brothers to set aside their differences, but they couldn’t or didn’t want to.</p>
<p id=”par-8_39″>It remains to be seen whether Harry and William will reach a point where they get close again, but with so many chances over the last few years and nothing coming to fruition, it’s hard to imagine they will. </p>
