<p id=”par-1_48″>Prince Harry and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/meghan-markle/”>Meghan Markle</a> were reportedly not invited to this year’s Trooping the Colour celebration, which takes place every June and celebrates the monarchy. Harry and Meghan don’t have a great relationship with the royal family, although Harry has been working on repairing things with his father.</p>
<p id=”par-2_37″>But a source close to the Sussexes claims that Harry was “heartbroken” after this year’s Trooping the Colour and was left “upset” and “emotional” upon <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/trooping-colour-scrutiny-taken-toll-kate-middleton-expert-says-thats-going-to-take-some-recovery.html/”>seeing footage of Kate Middleton</a> at her first public appearance in months.</p>

<p id=”par-3_97″>Harry and Meghan have not attended a Trooping the Colour since 2022, when they flew from California to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. The following years, the two either did not receive an invite or chose not to attend. But according to one source, this year was especially difficult for Harry due to Kate Middleton’s appearance. Harry and Kate were once incredibly close, and he considered her to be a sister. But over time, the two grew part; however, it was <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/kate-middleton-real-reason-attending-trooping-colour-wasnt-because-wanted-show-her-face.html/”>her Trooping the Colour appearance</a> that reportedly had him upset for a couple of reasons.</p>
<p id=”par-4_46″>“It was so painful for Harry to see all his family gathered for Trooping the Colour and not be there with them,” a source told <a href=”https://closeronline.co.uk/celebrity/news/prince-harry-uk-return-family-showdown/”>Closer Magazine UK</a>. “He’s heartbroken and confused by the way they’ve cut him off and seemingly haven’t given it another thought.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_74″>But seeing Kate Middleton make her first public appearance in months also reportedly hit Harry in the feels. “Harry was very upset and emotional when he saw the footage of Kate at Trooping the Colour,” the source said. “He’s been so worried about her ever since he received the news of her condition, and whilst he has managed to connect with her on a few occasions it’s not nearly as often as he’d like.”</p>

And when Kate revealed she was sick, it was yet another situation that could have had the silver lining of reconnecting, but it didn’t. It’s hard to tell if there will ever come a time when Harry and Meghan Markle are content to spend a lengthy amount of time with Harry’s family. </p>
