<p id=”par-1_40″>Prince Harry and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/”>Prince William</a> might not be <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/royal-insider-finally-admits-prince-harry-prince-william-dont-speak.html/”>on speaking terms today</a>, but things weren’t always that bad. The two brothers were close growing up, and even after Harry wed Meghan Markle, they remained on good terms for a while.</p>
<p id=”par-2_49″>William was still one of the first people Harry told when he had good news, despite that things have now changed. But Harry once recalled the moment he told his brother some top-secret news, and the Duke of Sussex later said that William’s reaction was exactly what he’d wanted.</p>

<p id=”par-3_67″>Things have turned sour between William and Harry, and the two men don’t speak at all. But prior to Harry and Meghan’s royal exit, things were tense but not too far gone. And there were certainly moments where the brothers were genuinely happy for each other. In Harry’s “Spare” memoir, he recalled telling William the news that Meghan was pregnant with the couple’s first child, Prince Archie.</p>
<p id=”par-4_47″>“We whispered the news, and Willy smiled and said ‘we must tell Kate,’” Harry recalled of when he and Meghan shared the secret <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/meghan-markle-put-her-foot-in-it-during-royal-slip-up-princess-eugenies-wedding.html/”>at Princess Eugenie’s wedding</a> in 2018. “She was across the room talking to Pippa. I said we could do it later, but he insisted.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_29″>Harry continued, “So we went and told Kate, and she also gave us big smile and hearty congratulations. They both reacted exactly as I’d hoped — as I’d wished.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_35″>But by the time Harry and Meghan welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet, in 2021, the dynamic between Harry and William had dramatically shifted. The brothers didn’t speak much, and that relationship still has not improved.</p>

<p id=”par-7_57″>Harry and Meghan are living completely separate lives from William and Kate. The last time all four of them were in the same room was Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022. Since then, Harry has not brought his wife and kids to the UK, and William and Kate certainly haven’t paid the Sussexes a visit in California.</p>
<p id=”par-8_90″>Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have pretty much no relationship with their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It’s hard to believe how much things have gone downhill between Harry and William — and that the brothers’ feud is the root cause of so much damage within the royal family. It’s also the reason the next generation <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/royals-replaced-sussex-kids-george-charlotte-louis-closest-cousins.html/”>might never have the relationship</a> that William and Harry had with their cousins. For now, though, it doesn’t look like either party is making a great effort to patch things up.</p>
