It’s quite a turn of events, and many aren’t sure what to think of it. Now someone who used to be friends with Meghan says the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/meghan-markle-getting-residual-checks-suits-surprise-streaming-success.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>former Suits star may be questioning the move herself.

Britain was the setting for her wedding and one of the most extraordinary chapters of her life. But it is also associated with intense scrutiny, negative headlines, and a period she has described as deeply painful.

“She would not be arriving as a new royal expected to learn an unfamiliar system; she would be coming back as an independent woman with her own businesses, profile, and boundaries. That could make the experience feel much more manageable. She may never feel entirely relaxed about the British media, but a private home and clearly defined separation from royal duties could allow her to engage with the U.K. on her own terms.”

Ede believes that for Harry, the move is all positive, opining, “A greater U.K. presence could be extremely positive for Harry’s relationship with his father. Reconciliation rarely happens through one dramatic summit; it normally develops through repeated, private, and relatively ordinary contact. Being geographically closer would allow the king to build a genuine relationship with his grandchildren rather than seeing them only occasionally.

“The king’s health will undoubtedly have sharpened Harry’s awareness that time is precious. Their recent family visit appears to have helped thaw relations, and may have shown Harry and Meghan that spending time here is possible without automatically being drawn back into royal duties. They are in a different position now: they have established an independent life and no longer need every decision to be framed as either choosing the monarchy or rejecting it.”

But not many people think this move is being welcomed by Prince William and the Princess of Wales (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/dont-be-fooled-this-is-what-kate-middleton-was-really-like-in-school.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>formerly known as Kate Middleton) since the brothers and their wives haven’t been on speaking terms for years.

According to Ede, “William and Catherine are likely to be extremely cautious. They will want to protect the stability of their own family and avoid being drawn into another cycle of speculation, private conversations becoming public and every interaction being analyzed.

“Catherine has often appeared to be a calming influence, but it would be unfair to expect her to act as the person responsible for repairing the relationship between the brothers. I wouldn’t rule out seeing the four of them together eventually, particularly at a major family or royal occasion, but a genuine ‘Fab Four’ reunion feels some way off. That phrase belongs to a very different chapter in their lives.”
