<p id=”par-1_13″>The reviews for <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/meghan-markle/?swcfpc=1″>Meghan Markle</a>‘s lifestyle show on <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/netflix/?swcfpc=1″>Netflix</a> are in and they haven’t been great. </p>
<p id=”par-2_39″>Many critics on both sides of the pond panned it and the majority of reviews on <a href=”https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/with_love_meghan/s01/reviews?type=user” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Rotten Tomatoes</a> gave it a rating of only one star or just a half star calling it “fake,” “boring,” and “tone deaf.” </p>
<p id=”par-3_40″>Well someone who was friends with Meghan for years before she <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-harry-was-able-to-marry-meghan-markle-because-she-didnt-do-this-1-thing-in-her-past.html/”>married Prince Harry</a> is blasting the series and Netflix because the way the viewer was treated was “alienating” and the narrative “patronized rather than informed people watching the show.”</p>

<p id=”par-5_16″>Nick Ede became friends with Meghan in 2013 when she was still <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/meghan-markle-getting-residual-checks-suits-surprise-streaming-success.html/”>starring in the legal drama <em>Suits</em></a>.</p>
<p id=”par-6_42″>He told <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/life/1741834/meghan-markle-prince-harry-humble-friend-dxus” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Express</a>: “I do a lot of work with lots of Hollywood stars, and I was working with Eva Longoria doing all her charity work. So I asked Megan to host the Global Gift Gala, which is a big charity event that we do.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_44″>Ede said the event took place at the ME Hotel London and that “Meghan flew in and we became really good friends. We had a really nice, fun, good relationship and were friends for a few years before obviously, she had to cull everybody.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_56″>Ede has seen Meghan’s new show and spoke about what bothered him when he watched it during an episode of <em>A Right Royal Podcast</em> explaining: “I always look at everything I do … saying to myself ‘Do you care?’ and the first thing I did when I watched it was say ‘No I don’t care.’ </p>
<p id=”par-9_41″>“There was nothing about it that I cared for. I didn’t care about the way I felt I was being almost patronized, I didn’t care for the way that the guests were treated, I didn’t really care about the takeaway tips.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_53″>He added: “I felt they were all pretty patronizing. Especially the one about wrapping a present and using the side to make sure the edges are sharp. You know that kind of thing is so basic I felt almost patronized by Netflix for actually making me endure this for quite a few hours.”</p>

<p id=”par-11_20″>Someone else who knows Meghan well had some thoughts on the duchess’s new series and that’s her father, Thomas Markle.</p>
<p id=”par-12_54″>While he hasn’t watched his estranged daughter’s show in full yet he’s seen plenty of footage from <em>With Love, Meghan</em> and told the <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14476833/Meghan-Netflix-DAD-verdict-Thomas-Markle.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail</a>: “I haven’t seen the show but I’ve seen a ton of clips and I’ve read many stories. I might sit down and watch it one day but I’m not sure.”</p>

When you are stuffing the turkey’s a*** it has to look like you’re having fun doing it. Unfortunately, Meghan has never been authentic. She has to think about everything. She’s not spontaneous. Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed.”</p>
<p id=”par-15_70″>Thomas continued: “It makes me laugh because I know all her looks and expressions. I know when she’s faking it for the cameras. She’s trying so hard to be perfect that she tenses up every time the camera is on her. The best cooks are funny, they mess up, they are human. She just wants to be perfect.
