Now, others are weighing in and agree that the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/meghan-markles-former-friend-says-there-is-no-way-to-change-peoples-perception-of-her-amid-masterchef-set-drama.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Duchess of Sussex</a> getting into a feud with the homemaking icon was a terrible idea. </p>
<p id=”par-2_57″>Following Meghan and Prince Harry’s meeting with King Charles, the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/meghan-markle-getting-residual-checks-suits-surprise-streaming-success.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>former <em>Suits </em>star</a> was a guest at a dinner party, which Stewart also attended. During an interview with <a href=”https://people.com/martha-stewart-recreates-1995-people-cover-bedford-farm-interview-exclusive-12033698″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>, the domestic doyenne shared that while at the gala, they were seated near one another and Stewart overheard Meghan speaking about her royal reunion at the Palace. </p>
<p id=”par-3_52″>“I had dinner with [Meghan Markle] the other night,” Stewart stated, adding, “We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the Palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_50″>Stewart’s comments likely wouldn’t be the best thing for Harry’s father to hear since several reports claim that King Charles did <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/king-charles-gave-prince-harry-9-word-ultimatum-royal-reunion.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>not want any details of their meeting discussed</a> and already wasn’t thrilled that <a href=”https://www.vanityfair.com/story/king-charles-queen-camilla-prince-harry-reunion” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Vanity Fair</a> published bits about it based on what sources close to the Sussexes revealed. </p>
<p id=”par-5_39″>However, Stewart did not share any specifics of what Meghan said, and therefore her comments would have just blown over in a couple of days. Instead of allowing that to happen, Meghan decided to dispute Stewart’s recollection. </p>
<p id=”par-6_79″>“I sat next to Meghan at the dinner party, and this account of what happened is simply untrue,” the source who hosted the party insisted. “Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time … Meghan was asked by someone else about her European vacation and said it was nice, and that was the extent of it. I think (Ms. Stewart) must have been confused, but we remain fans of Martha.” </p>
<p id=”par-7_43″>According to the <a href=”https://www.thedailybeast.com/in-taking-on-martha-stewart-hapless-meghan-markle-has-picked-the-wrong-fight/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Beast</a>‘s royal commentator and European Editor at Large Tom Sykes, “Meghan seems to have got the host of the party to call up <a href=”https://people.com/martha-stewarts-account-dinner-party-meghan-markle-is-simply-untrue-source-12036583″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a> magazine and say that Martha’s account was ‘simply untrue’ and worse, they called Martha ‘<a href=”https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/meghan-markle-martha-stewart-king-37520462″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>confused</a>.’”</p>

<p id=”par-8_44″>As Sykes put it, the former working royal’s choice to have her sources dismiss the claims was “incredibly stupid. Implying that Martha, 85, is a dotty old lady is an incredibly stupid thing to do, especially for Meghan, who enjoys very little public goodwill.</p>
<p id=”par-9_57″>“Meghan seems so paranoid that her brand and reputation will be destabilized by one tiny comment that she has made it infinitely worse by drawing attention to it, responding by getting somebody else to ring up a magazine on her behalf (rather than making a statement saying she hadn’t talked about the meeting) is manipulative and transparent.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_28″>He added that the duchess should have just “sucked it up. Launching a counter-story implying Martha is a confused old lady is a battle she can only lose.”</p>
<p id=”par-11_39″><a href=”https://robshuter.substack.com/p/exclusive-martha-stewart-isnt-backing” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Naughty But Nice</a> reported that Stewart has no plans to withdraw her account. “Martha said what she said. She was there, she remembers the conversation, and she has no reason to invent it.” Therefore, Stewart stands by her recollection.</p>
