<p id=”par-1_30″> <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/meghan-markle/?swcfpc=1″>Meghan Markle</a>‘s lifestyle brand has been in the works for some time but she’s faced a number of issues and hasn’t been able to officially launch it yet. </p>
<p id=”par-2_68″>The <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/meghan-markle-getting-residual-checks-suits-surprise-streaming-success.html/?swcfpc=1″>former <em>Suits</em> star</a> first teased her products under the name “American Riviera Orchard” in March 2024. But fast forward a year later and a trademark issue threw a wrench into Meghan’s plans and she was forced to change the name. The duchess took to Instagram explaining that her rebranding was due to limitations in what she could sell under the name and her product line would now be called “As Ever.”</p>
<p id=”par-3_54″>“I’m thrilled to introduce you to As Ever — a brand that I created and have poured my heart into,” she wrote. “‘As ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always’ … I can’t wait for you to get your hands on everything we’ve been creating.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_31″>However, it’s now being reported that Meghan needs to correct a few “errors” if she plans on moving forward with the name and finally getting her products on the market. </p>

<p id=”par-5_68″>There is reportedly another issue with Meghan’s brand now. According to <a href=”https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2025/03/18/meghan-runs-into-new-trademark-trouble-over-lifestyle-brand/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Telegraph</a>, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-harry-was-able-to-marry-meghan-markle-because-she-didnt-do-this-1-thing-in-her-past.html/?swcfpc=1″>Prince Harry’s wife</a> was informed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that she needs to amend her trademark application over a series of “errors” with As Ever. Documents obtained by the publication show that the As Ever trademark application could not be verified because it was left unsigned where there was a signature required. </p>
<p id=”par-6_42″>Another problem that Meghan has dealt with before is popping up again as some of the categories for her products were deemed “indefinite or too broad.” Those include “spoons for serving jams and fruit preserves,” “textile napkins,” and “crystallized sugar for decoration.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_24″>The Telegraph reported: “Meghan has been given three months to respond in order to avoid having to abandon her attempts to register the trademark.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_17″>The duchess had previously announced that her products would be available for purchase in Spring 2025. </p>

<p id=”par-9_14″>The Telegraph noted that Meghan has received some positive news about her brand name.</p>
<p id=”par-10_53″>After getting backlash for using the same names as an already-established clothing brand in New York City whose owner spoke to an attorney, it seems there isn’t much of an issue with the Duchess of Sussex’s As Ever name. That’s because the NYC shop owner does not own the trademark for the name.</p>
<p id=”par-11_57″>Meghan was also criticized for the similarities between her As Ever logo and the coat of arms of the Majorcan village of Porreres. Despite the town’s mayor, Xisca Mora, insisting that the As Ever logo featuring two hummingbirds and a palm tree was a “total copy,” there was no trademark issue mentioned in the documents about that. </p>
